Human mind is the world in itself. It is the world of
thoughts. It is the world of feelings. It is the world of productivity. It is
very thoughtful. Samartha Ramdas Swami also knew this fact and hence he asks
mind that you are the root cause of whatever comes your way, may it be
happiness or sadness. Life is like a roller coaster ride. There would be happy
moments and definitely there would be sad moments. As the mind knows everything
about us and our feelings, so Samartha Ramdas Swami asks mind in his 11th
Shloka that you search yourself who is the happiest and doesn’t have any sorrow
in their life in this whole world? If you find one, then feel bad for having troubles
and sorrow in life. Samartha tries to
make the mind understand this fact that you cannot hope for the happiness
always.
Further in the Shloka, Samartha asks mind that whatever you
did in past is the source of whatever you are facing right now. Samartha
tries to make the mind understand that you are the part of that Parmatma, you
have an ability to pursue what you want. As we say in Marathi, “मन करा रे प्रसन्न, सर्व सिद्धीचे कारण!” When you have sound mind, you are the
happiest person in the world. Because when you have sound mind, you become able
to do whatever you want with creative thoughts and ideas. Your mind is the root cause of
everything that you face in life.
It is similar to whatever you sow, that will grow! So,
through this Shloka, Samartha asks mind to keep its Karma pure and it’ll have
sweet fruits in future. Samartha tries to tell mind that don’t just expect to
have happiness in life, do some good deeds to claim that happiness. Whenever good things you do in life, you’d feel more happy and satisfied. That happiness
doesn’t belong to the worldly desires and expectations; here he means by
happiness is something which we gain after giving something back to the world
around us. These sanskaras play very important role in nurturing our mind. When
our mind gets nurtured, there is no force out there which can stop you from
achieving the desired goal.
