Nutrition: A way to achieve mental health

Feeling low? Eat. Getting bored? Eat. Have nothing to do? Eat. Many people out there would agree with the above state of mind. In all, eating is the only solution of every problem that is what the most of us think. But do you know one thing that food doesn’t only make our mood better but it affects our mental health for all good. Rather we can say that what we eat has an extraordinary impact on our mental health. The quality of food that we eat is directly connected with the quality of our mental health.

Binge eating, unhygienic food, street food would definitely not contribute in developing your positive personality. If you want to have an optimistic personality, then you need to increase the intake of nutritional food. You need to look into the details of how the food has been cooked and what are the ingredients it includes. I truly believe that, the path towards sound mind goes through the fulfilled stomach.

Our state of mind during the intake of food also matters when it comes to having healthy lifestyle. You need to focus on what do you want to have a healthy and positive personality, or something that you don’t really desire for? When you decide what you want, you can walk that way to achieve your goal.

Many a times we hear our mother saying that, “Eat properly. Don’t think negative while eating and be acceptable when it comes to eating something that you don’t like.” She clearly means by that is one should be optimistic and happy while eating. It actually reflects in your personality.

When we have poor eating habits, we definitely fail to have healthy lifestyle as well as personality. Once you have this habit of having non-nutritional food, you would not like the pure and nutritional food. You could develop obesity due to these food items and it actually affects your personality. So the basic mantra to stay healthy is, eat healthy and think positive.

EQ affects the quality of your leadership

EQ is the term used for the emotional quotient that we possess. It is an ability to identify your own emotions and the emotions of those around you. Now when you think of a good leader, then what picture do you have in front of your eyes? Picture of someone who takes care of their employees, understands their emotions and empathizes with them.

Basically, we all want a leader who takes care of their employees and works for them. But if you want to be a leader like that then have you ever thought through which process you need to go? Or what are those traits which you need to polish for achieving your leadership skills? There are types of leadership but today, we will talk about generalized term of leadership and skills that it requires. Let’s have a look:

Social skills: When you have social skills, you understand the importance of being around people. You understand the tricks to handle people at work and their emotions as well. You efficiently become able to manage people and the relation between your employees at work.

Soft skills: When you exactly know how to behave socially then you automatically try to build your talking skills. Because you understand the fact that you need to be soft and patient while communicating with people around you. How do you talk, walk and present yourself has the tremendous impact on first impression that you create. All these factors of your personality are covered under soft skills.

Empathy: Empathy is the factor of anyone’s personality which actually describes their ability to understand others’ emotions and easily relate to them. Empathizing is the ability to relate ourselves with others and make them comfortable. This quality of yours can make others believe in your abilities and they can have the faith in you.

Managing people: It is very true that achieving something is easier than managing people when you are the leader. And another angle of this story is that you need to manage people well to achieve more. It takes a lot of guts to keep people doing what they do patiently and utilize their abilities for organizational betterment.

These four factors make you the best leader and people in your organization feel free to open up about their problems in front of you. When the relation between you and other employees is smooth, they follow your words and your organization does progress.

Child development: A big step towards nation building

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru rightly said that, "The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country". What made him say so? His trust in the creative young minds. He trusted the creative aspect of our next generation. On this children’s day, we need to make sure that we are giving equal opportunities to our children irrespective of their gender. We are the strongest country of the world in reference with our creativity and skills.

What are the things that we need to take care of? There are many aspects of the child’s personality. Child is like mud, we need to shape him or her in order to make the beautiful masterpiece out of that mud. As a parent we need to understand that child development is the primary yet the most important step towards developing our nation. Child development doesn’t only affect the child’s personality and his future positively but it also affects the future of the nation.

Following are a few things which we need to practice with our children in order to make our country a better place to live for them:
  • We need to inculcate the sense of responsibility in our child towards our nation.
  •  We need to reflect the same responsible behavior through our personality for them to learn easily.
  •  Taking small steps like keeping our country clean, providing basic facilities to each and everyone can make a big difference.
  •  We need to respect the skills and abilities of every individual. It contributes a lot in the development of our country.
  •  We need to inculcate nationalism in them in order to make them believe in the strength of our country and the strength which lies in our diversity.
  • We need to respect the innovative ideas that they possess and need to boost them to have the same passion for innovation throughout their life.
  • We need to have strong educational base in order to keep every individual at the same level.
  • We need to teach our children that creating better India is our responsibility and it needs to be from our end when it comes to developing our own country.
  • What we do today will define our tomorrow. Make our new generation believe in it.

Do you communicate with your child?

It is very rightly said that “Don’t talk to your child.” “Talk with your child.” There is a difference. When you talk to your child he or she listens to you and leaves the topic where it has finished. When you have conversation with your child, you get to explore his or her world of imagination.

Many parents complain about toddlers talking more lately than they should. They fail to identify the real causes. Do you want to know the causes? It’s you! Yes you read it right. Science has proved that when parents engage themselves in conversing with their child, it becomes easier for child to learn language skills.

You can communicate with your child even before he or she starts talking. You should talk more about intellectual things and let your child hear them. You should engage them in the conversation by taking their name and talking with love.

What are the effects that you would see? Read on to know:
  •         Your child would have amazing language skills
  •         He or she would have strong vocabulary
  •         He or she would have stronger memory and sharper brain
  •         He or she would develop great common and sixth sense
  •         He or she would have impeccable communication skills
  •         He or she would have strong imagination powers
  •         He or she would be able to write down their thoughts so well
  •         It would be easier for them to connect with people
  •        Their social abilities would be amazing
  •        They would achieve more goals as they can convince others about their skills        through their communication skills
  •         It would be easier for them to be friends with various languages

We have tradition of storytelling. We all must have heard stories from our granny while sleeping in the childhood. What it did with our memory? During the time of sleep, brain accepts whatever you feed it. Those stories and their morals have stayed with us and they help us taking decisions in life with ethical thought process. Keep having healthy communication with your child; it would also help you explore your child more. You would understand their likes, dislikes, their perspectives and thought process.
