In many
situations, parents feel that they should punish their child to make them
realize the value of things and people in life. But we often fail to notice the
fact that when we punish our child physically, he or she
starts going away from us. He or she starts feeling that whatever he or she
does it ends up in punishment and that too the physical punishment. What is the
use when they feel alone when you punish them physically? When you punish them
physically, it leaves them thinking that you are a bad parent.
Then you
would think that, how can one inculcate good habits in kids? The answer is
here. You can behave the way you want your child to be. You can set good
examples before them. You can use your words strongly. You can make them
realize that, ‘when my mother says no that means no.’ But for this, you need to
inculcate the feeling of being secured and cared in your child. Child should
never feel that if something is being told then, it could be for keeping them
away from the things they want to do.
You could recite
stories of Shravan baal, Krishna, Rama with the moral, and make them realize
the fact that whatever they are being told is for their welfare. Kids are like
mud. It is in your hands to develop them. It’s your responsibility as a parent
to inculcate good habits in them. If you succeed in doing this, you would be a
successful parent. For this, you don’t need to take help of any physical
punishment. Your words and moderate actions are enough! It helps to develop better individuals for tomorrow.
