Multiple Intelligence 9. Existential Intelligence

Sensitivity and capacity to tackle deep questions about human existence, such as, what is the meaning of life? Why do we die? How did we get here? etc. is known as Existential Intelligence. 

Every person think deeper, about Self existence, at least once in life time, but the One who persistently think and crave for Origin, develop this type of Intelligence. Commonly in teenage stage, go through, phase of such questionnaire, and here is the very important opportunity to inform them . Usually guidance must be done by older and wiser person. Since Existential Intelligence is the Core of all other intelligences, by developing this, we are watering the Roots. 

In all religions usually rituals are there, to initiate such learning. Existential Intelligence is the Spiritual journey. In Indian Philosophical literature, at the age of 7, this teaching is initiated by doing the ritual called as Maunj , and is done so by  Gayatri Mantra . Then the child is ready to go to Gurukul, to learn. Gradually narrating the traditional stories which explain the formation of our very Earth, Plant Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Evolution process in Human beings and the most important information about the God and Oneness of His Existence! 

Let the child, young one ask questions , parents should try to answer, but it's always advisable, that, the learned one must guide, to avoid misconception. Reading and group discussion amongst wise people can enhance this Existential Intelligence. 

The Ved, Upanishad, Geeta, the Holy Quran, the Holy Bible, the Granth Sahib, the PanchSheel of Tathagat Buddha, are the Enlighten Books, which lead to enhancement of Existential Intelligence. Aham Bramhasmi is the Soham practice to attend , Existential experience with the grace of Sadguru, and is known as highest of Existential Intelligence.

Multiple Intelligence 8. Naturalistic Intelligence

Ability to recognize and categories plants, animals and other objects in nature is known as Naturalistic Intelligence. 

Add on objective in this definition is, it deals with sensing patterns in and making connections to elements in nature. But Indian Philosophy defines this type of intelligence, completely and more precisely, as Nature's five elements are panch mahabhute and are worshipped. 

Also Nature is worshipped as Nisarg Devata. Gratitude and worship are two most powerful emotional and intellectual aspects of Naturalistic Intelligence. 

So only flora and fauna categorisation is not the Natural Intelligence but, to love, care and conserve the Nature is the Natural Intelligence. When we watch National Geography channel then the whole  team who capture the beauty of nature have higher naturalistic intelligence. Botanical scientists , zoological scientists are at higher levels of naturalistic intelligence. 

Even the civil engineer who builds the structure which is nature friendly or he plants the sapling after construction is done. Person who loves pets have moderate naturalistic intelligence but those who sympathies and empathise with plants , animals birds, fishes is much more intelligent. 

Have you seen Plant hugging, as therapy? Yes it helps for physical and emotional detoxification, but it needs naturalistic intelligence. Those social workers, government members who act in preservation of  forests, planting at hill slopes are very respected naturalistic intelligent people. This type of Intelligence actually empowers the person from Within. Be Naturalistic intelligent and experience for your self.

Multiple Intelligence 7. Intrapersonal Intelligence

Capacity to be self aware and in tune with inner feelings, values, beliefs and thinking processes, is known as Intra personal intelligence. 

This intelligence is core of personality. The person who is aware of Self, can empathise with others. In other words, all high intra personal intelligence persons can become high interpersonal intelligent people by choice. For true success and satisfaction in life,  one must have high Intra personal intelligence. 

This type of intelligence doesn't differentiate between  superiority complex and inferiority complex. High interpersonal intelligence can be seen in academicians, researchers, literati, (poets, novelists), entrepreneurs , visionaries etc. 

Why and how, there is low Intra personal intelligence? Let's take one example, in group discussion, if the person is not firm on his own beliefs and values then usually such persons  may talk aggressively but wise can see, hollow base of speech. Such persons are not reliable. On the contrary, the self aware person is confident and clear about planning strategies and thus is reliable. 

According to Indian Philosophy this type of intelligence is of two levels, sthul (gross) and sukshm (subtle). At gross levels our inner feelings are also gross e.g. likes, dislikes and emotions . Values and beliefs at gross level are usually based on our surroundings (family, society) and upbringing state. And thinking process at gross level is result of memories, learning, experiential understanding , reading etc. While subtle Intra personal intelligence  all factors are directly related to inborn talents, spiritual orientation and guidance by Sadguru. This type of intelligence is interconnected to next type, existential intelligence.

Multiple Intelligence 6. Interpersonal Intelligence

Capacity to detect and respond appropriately ,to the moods, motivations and desires of other is defined as Interpersonal Intelligence. 

This is not only essential in working sections but it's very needed in day to day life. Family bonding, friend circle, social relation ships are based on this intelligence. 

This capacity in Indian Philosophy is known as MannKavade . Mann and Buddhi are two aspects of Thinking Source, and above mentioned things as desires, likings, moods are related to Mann.

 For this type of intelligence  one has to be empathetic with others, and then accordingly behave , to nurture the good relation. This intelligence doesn't claim to make others always happy or pampering but it respect others point of view, understand it and then takes the decision in well fare of all. 

Thus high interpersonal intelligence is the quality of Leader. Leadership in any field say from class monitor to social representative, group leader in industry or political leader. Human Resource Department members need such type of intelligence as basic criteria of duty. Interpersonal intelligence excels in fields like social media, entertainment media, spying fields, Interpol carriers etc. 

Such interpersonal intelligence can be viewed in those persons who are  truly popular amongst people, successful counsellors, and cream sections of white collar jobs. At basic levels, all our family members like Aajji, Nani, Mausi are the high intelligence persons who have acquired interpersonal intelligence by experiences of life and love towards family. They are better than professional counsellor since along with intelligence , love and care and sincerity is at higher level. 

This type of intelligence is highest in spiritual personality, since they think and act for welfare of others at absolutely selfless basis. They are the best leaders too, as they leads mankind towards Ultimate Bliss. 

Multiple Intelligence 5. Musical Intelligence

Ability to produce and appreciate rhythm, pitch, and timber is known as Musical Intelligence. This intelligence is integral part of our personality. 

In the womb, mothers heart beats rhythm is the first perception. Songs by mother for her child is most developed musical intelligence ,since it comes through heart and is perceived by other heart. 

And still higher to this , musical intelligence can be seen in devotees who forget themselves in praising their God. Bhajans, Aarati, Sufi songs, songs at Church,  all types of prayers  and deeply spiritual oriented songs shows immense power of musical intelligence. 

Playing the musical instrument is next aspect of this intelligence. Understanding the pitch and timber and then reproducing them, is very skilful job. And it needs concentration, devotion and daily practice too. Few generations back, musical intelligence was mistaken for limited group of people and thus was not so popular in carrier selection . 

Art and business can not go hand in hand was the myth. But now a days, movies, TV and live shows have given the golden glow to musical intelligence. Since this intelligence is applicable to the artist as well as listeners equally, so along with back ground music direction, making advertisements , jingles, advising perfect pitch for famous speakers, DJ, radio jockeying etc. these are very attractive carriers amongst us. 

Thus now a days musical intelligence not only provide the emotional and psychological joy but it is economically promising too. This intelligence helps us to enjoy our self as well as to express too. Be with Music, Be with your Self.

Multiple Intelligence 4. Kinesthetic Intelligence

Bodily or Kinesthetic Intelligence is defined as an ability to control one's body movements and to handle objects skilfully. This intelligence is needed in association with all other types for performance. 

Perception by skin is very important, it has emotional intelligence too. Baby's primary perceptions are through mother's touch. This bodily intelligence develop with experience. Have you seen , how the toddler climb steps? He takes judgement of hight with Kinesthetic intelligence. 

To develop this intelligence, we always ask parents to take child into nature,like park, where child can touch and feel soft fur of dog, roughness of rock, touch of leaf this helps a lot in improving Kinesthetic intelligence.

Next aspect of this intelligence is seen highly developed in classical dancers. Bharatnatyam, Katthak, Bale, traditional rain dancing are best exercises to improve Kinesthetic intelligence. Very beautiful control on bodily movements at even subtle levels can be seen in expert dancers. 

Next feature of skilfully handling of objects can be improved with art and crafting. This is so necessary in all types of workshops. While doing surgeries, operating computers, designing models, robotics etc and so many modalities need Kinesthetic intelligence.

Kinesthetic intelligence is the beautiful link between art and science, and is necessary for performance.
