Multiple Intelligence 4. Kinesthetic Intelligence

Bodily or Kinesthetic Intelligence is defined as an ability to control one's body movements and to handle objects skilfully. This intelligence is needed in association with all other types for performance.

Perception by skin is very important, it has emotional intelligence too. Baby's primary perceptions are through mother's touch. This bodily intelligence develop with experience. Have you seen , how the toddler climb steps? He takes judgement of hight with Kinesthetic intelligence.

To develop this intelligence, we always ask parents to take child into nature, like park, where child can touch and feel soft fur of dog, roughness of rock, touch of leaf this helps a lot in improving Kinesthetic intelligence.

Next aspect of this intelligence is seen highly developed in classical dancers. Bharatnatyam, Katthak, Bale, traditional rain dancing are best exercises to improve Kinesthetic intelligence. Very beautiful control on bodily movements at even subtle levels can be seen in expert dancers.

Next feature of skilfully handling of objects can be improved with art and crafting. This is so necessary in all types of workshops. While doing surgeries, operating computers, designing models, robotics etc and so many modalities need Kinesthetic intelligence.

Kinesthetic intelligence is the beautiful link between art and science, and is necessary for performance.

Multiple Intelligence 3. Logical/Mathematical Intelligence

This is defined as, ability to think conceptually and abstractly, and capacity to discern logical and numerical patterns. Mathematics is geometry and algebra, theoretical and numerical. Most important basic fact is, Mathematics is the Mother of All the science factors.

So this Logical intelligence is considered as integral intelligence of personality. Mathematical intelligence need not be studied in schools only, this statement may appear weird but it's commonly seen that vegetable merchants do calculation of 1 dozen banana, 2 kg potato, 1 kg onion faster than us and that too without calculator.

Logical means mathematical, it explain further one important thing, that any theory to be proved needs mathematical model. Thus this logical intelligence is the link between imaginations, virtual thinking and reality, proof, experience.

To enhance this intelligence, one need to learn mathematics in traditional ways and/or education and then practice it in daily routine. Application of mathematical intelligence frequently in daily buying helps a lot.

Vedic mathematics is the best way to improve logical intelligence. Indian Philosophy states Vedic Ganeet as base of Shastra. Let me share one fact, Sanskrit language and mathematics are interlinked, even updated computers accept Sanskrit language as priority. If you remember, in our generation our grandparents taught us Sanskrit mantra,

Bhagavad Geeta Aadhyay, RamRaksha, every evening along with recitation tables (Padhe). Chanting and recitation helps to improve Smruti,( deep memory) an important factor for logical and abstract thinking. Numerical patterns must be learned with writing, drawing and then application. Thus in brief, logical, mathematical intelligence improvisation needs, learning, understanding, regular practice and application. Please, help yourself and your kids to fall in love with mathematics, it is really wonderful

Multiple Intelligence. 2. Spatial/Visual Intelligence

Spatial or Visual Intelligence is capacity to think in images and to visualise accurately and abstractly. This intelligence is usually seen in expertise of civil, architecture engineering, interior designers, surgeons, fashion designers, mechanical engineering, aeronautical engineering, pilots etc.

In such situations abstract measurement of space and dimensions along with logical imaginations is combined. Imagine the intelligence of civil engineer who is drawing blue print for his construction site, sitting in his office.

Understand how genius is the surgeon's spatial intelligence who operates on various patients having different sizes, shapes and age. With his anatomical study, doctor has to do abstract imaginations to locate organ e.g. appendix( part of intestine) and avoid injury to artery or nerve. Best surgeons do very clean operation since their spatial intelligence is very high.

Thus this intelligence is mainly related to judgement of dimensions length, breadth, hight, distance. Also this intelligence includes discrimination between two shapes, structures, or objects. Aesthetic sense and creativity is also integral part of spatial intelligence.

May I say here, the  beholder of spatial intelligence is the person who has tremendous power of judgement which can bring logical imaginations in Reality in the Forms.

Multiple Intelligence - Verbal Intelligence

Let's know about all 9 intelligence factors of multiple intelligence. This is Howard Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligence (MI). But here we are also understanding Indian Philosophical views. The first and foremost being, Verbal or Linguistic intelligence(VI). It is defined as well developed verbal skills and Sensitivity to the sounds meanings and rhythms of words.

VI is essential in Aptitude tests. Verbal skills development needs regular practice of expressing yourself, in group. To enhance this skill we usually ask for family get together sessions. At family level, if there is need of some decision making then parents must ask their pupil to speak  their views and thoughts. This helps primary development of verbal skill. Confidence and well to put words are important factors in VI.

At school and college levels, group studies must include group discussion, this furthermore adds in skill and confidence. Small speeches at  school also add on VI.

Now we know about how to improve verbal  skill , so let's understand next level of VI. Sensitivity to the sounds meanings is relatively more subtle and needs more emotional intelligence. Your pronunciation of sentence and your  sound conveys your meanings at superficial and deep levels. Meanings can be perceived  in two ways with way of pronounced words and sound of words. So one has to be very careful about," how I Sound". Rhythms of words are again more subtle factor of VI. Sound and Rhythm actually makes verbal skill properly aesthetic and impressive. With this one can make sound positive impact with Verbal power.

With lack of these skills, though you may be intelligent, it may or may not be perceived by others. Indian Philosophy states very importantly here, that, your good intentions, and your good nature, purity of one's heart , naturally comes in your Total Verbal Intelligence. So be It.

I Love My India

On this occasion of Republic Day of India, let's contribute in National Prosperity.

Sujalam, Sufalam is our Bharat Mata. Sujalam means water storage in India, as rivers, wells, lakes etc. all give life and  nutrition to us, also in our Sanskriti we worship rivers as Goddess and wells and lakes as Tirth. Ocean is the God.

All these things are explained scientifically, in Indian Philosophy. In this matter of Prosperity of Water, we can contribute by saving water (rain water harvesting), using sprinklers in farming, avoiding wastage of water in daily usage and very importantly doing tree plantation to maintain seasonal cycle. Projects for avoiding water pollution, cleansing of lakes and wells and rivers are very important, here we can contribute at personal levels by educating people around us, even taking good care of society's water storage tanks.

Next level of National Treasure is farming, Sufalam states the definition that our soil is so rich in nutritional factors that it bears the fruits which are rich in nutrients. We worship our land as BhuDevi, and She blesses us with Dhan Dhanya. As Indians we basically are KrushiPradhan, and so we should contribute in farming, directly and/or indirectly. As proud Indian parents, we must cherish patriotism and pass it on to our next generation.

One day per week one family must provide food to one needy, poor family, doing so we are directly contributing to prosperous factor of Bandhu Bhav. Our Sanskriti , our Dnyan, Heritage is our Treasure and we must preserve and protect  this by actually understanding and following our Rituals. Let's be aware (Sujan) and worship our MahanMangal Bharat Mata.

Cinema And Albums Making Alcohol, Smoking As Routine

While understanding views of school going kids about alcohol and smoking, I was stunned to realise one thing, that, 80% of them don't think "it's Bad or Dangerous" for them, it is casual and if somebody is smoking or drinking alcohol, then "so what? It's OK" is their comment.

Just one generation back, these bad habits were considered seriously bad. But now a days Bollywood songs like 'char  bottle vodka', 'Johnny Johnny, maine pi nahi', 'la lla la lla lory, daru ki katori', 'mai alcoholic hu', so many hit (?) and popular songs are directly singing about alcohol. When innocent children sing such songs, then sub consciously their mind is accepting, this as normal and OK. Watching advertisements about soda, are links to alcohol and brainy kids know it too well.

If parents do smoke and/drink alcohol, even if one tries to hide it from their kids, kids know it anyway. This is indirect acceptance as well as encouragement to kids towards bad habits. If such kids start, any of these poisons in early life as mid teen age, then they are highly prone for liver diseases, cardiac disorders, infertility, Alzheimer's,  etc.

So what is the strategy to prevent such complications? Can we restrain  children from watching TV, Movies? Can we start campaign, against such songs, movies? In Hollywood movies, alcohol is simply OK , because very cold weather, needs such support, is the view. But, are we going to follow this blindly?simply as craze? Our Sanskriti never allow us to consume such poisons. To prevent this, we can't restrict our children from various exposures, but we have to talk with them , regularly. Parents should confide in pupil, and request him/her, not to fall pray to such habits.

Emotional instabilities at home fronts lead to consumption of drugs. So communication in friendly manner, faith in relations , conservation of tradition are necessary. Every month either mother or father must listen to their kid, know about their friend circle, recent topics of discussion in class/school. Parents has to show respect and love towards kid in proper manner. Balance between pampering and strict rearing is must. Friendly talk about views on smoking and alcohol, followed by careful and informative talk which must not be boring, is essential. Parents, please be aware and take Good Care! It starts, of course with, Yourself First! Avoid smoking and consumption of alcohol. Be Healthy and Really Happy!!

Importance of Bland Diet in Building Immunity and Stamina

Tasty, spicy, sweet, hot and sour, cheesy, tangy,fried....food, variety, always attracts us!

Yes, everybody loves tasty food. Every person is foodie. Accordingly choices vary but food is always a considering factor of joy and happiness. Satiety after food lasts quite long. Now in such scenario, how we can focus on the types of food which are comparatively tasteless, bland? But if these types of meals add on to your Physical as well as Psychological Stamina, then I am sure, we are wise enough to accept bland diet irrespective of disliking of our tongue and mind.

Bland diets help our mind to focus on day to day targets, in better way. Fried and spicy food rather blurs this focus. With bland diet, one can  control emotions very well. Indian Philosophical explanation in this matter, is, Satvik Aahar helps in strengthening the Buddhi Tej and controlling the Mann (mind). It also provide strength to liver and spleen, thus enhancing immunity.

Now we are curious to know, about these type of food. And they are, cow's milk, ghee, buttermilk,, fruits,  Rice and Wheat  products as, floor, flakes and puffs. Flakes (poha) are compressed products. While puffs(lahi) are baked products. Plain boiled rice with ghee and salt, freshly prepared chapati with ghee and salt, must be consumed at least 3 times a week. Wheat puffs baked in pinch of butter and salt are best for breakfast. Warm milk without sugar or any additives is best before sleep. In traditional food preparations like Chinese, on can choose veg clear soups with lot of vegetables and noodles without ajinomoto and less of spices, garlic and onion. You may also eat plain bread with application of ghee or butter, as was the practice of earlier European civilization.  These types of meals should be consumed at least 3 to 4 times per week. Other menu can be tasty nutritional meals with delicacy. These bland diets, in addition to improving stamina also, enhances respect and value to tasty foods. Otherwise if we eat daily, tasty food, then we may get monotonous and bored with it.

So in viewing this whole perspective of bland diet, the final conclusion is , to try it and take benefit of it. Gradually you surely like such food and love it too. For this bit patience is needed initially,as we are used to tasty bites. Just try, this one, if you eat chapati, and chew it, then within 30 seconds, it tastes sweetish. Likewise when you love yourself, then you will definitely love plain and simple food too.

What Is Behind One Action?

When we see one action (Kruti), before that there is thought process (Vichar)and emotion (bhavana). Thinking is like a blue print, and sometimes it takes place in conscious level and many a times at sub concious level. Emotion can be gross, which is felt by the person and sometimes it's so subtle that it's not perceived properly.

Let's take some example, to cook veg biryani for her kids with a different flavour is the action by mother, it has thinking pattern coming as memory from past experience as well as innovative, creative thinking too. There is emotion as care and love felt towards kid by mother. So all these 3 are seen or perceived very well by the mother as well as any third person as an observer.

Now let's consider other example of action, daughter-in-law not obeying some tips given by her mother in law. When her husband asks her politely "Why you are not following my mother's suggestions?" Then she replies innocently(?) " why? no, I don't mean to hurt her. " Now here always the thinking pattern of defining self respect or a rebel and emotion of anger or sorrow is surely there, to show absent mindedness. Now according to personality, these thoughts and emotions can be gross or subtle but they are always there, so no need to deny it. Any right or wrong action/deed is always associated with like wise thoughts and emotions, this is Simple and Sure Theory. So if someone is determined to do good deeds(Satkarm) then as a priority, one has to cultivate  good thoughts and practise positive emotions first. Then easily actions will be good. If someone wants to work successfully then one has to have Visions of success and emotional conviction too. This Trilogy of Action, Thinking and Emotion should be channelised well to attain ultimate Satisfaction and Bliss.

Laziness Can Be Sign Of Fatigue

Once in a while, in the winter season, feeling sleepy even after 8am is fine. But if you are being persistently called lazy at various levels, then it is a matter of concern. In case of children, signs of laziness are mostly  due to lack of interest in that particular subject. Parents must take due care either to enhance the interest or talk with the kid. Many a times child is lazy in doing home work. But here one must give ample of play time to the kid before asking the child to complete homework. In teenager girls, if menstrual cycle is started then harmonal changes and relative anaemia may be the causes of laziness. Over expectations from parents or teachers may lead to emotional fatigue and thus may present as rebellion laziness. Calcium and zinc deficiency also leads to easy fatiguebility seen as laziness. Thus prolonged laziness must be investigated and diagnosed at physical as well as emotional level. It's treatment needs moral support, understanding, nutritional supplimentation, discipline and care. In adults laziness is commonly seen in case of increased cholesterol , thyroid problems, anaemia, cardiac problems etc. So if somebody is lazy at home then please don't just tease the person but find out the causes first, treat them and then only apply discipline.

Is Anger Contagious ?

Anger is taken casually so many times. If something goes wrong one gets angry, this situation is accepted as normal phenomenon. Sometimes anger is also termed as logical, and reasonable too. What exactly is this anger? Emotion? Expression? Reaction? Yes it is one and/or all but it is never reasonable or logical. If one person is in state of anger, then the other persons who are in empathetic or sympathetic state also feels this anger, and those who are prey/target  to this anger too react with anger. This triggering of chain reaction can only be stopped by  love and peace. Forgiving is also beneficial.

Expression of anger is mostly contagious as seen in daily scenes, if in office boss yells at subordinate, then this angry subordinate, expresses his anger sooner or later. If anger is repressed then also aura of such angry person leads to triggering the anxiety in other person, who are in vicinity. Many a times it's seen that if mother is with repression of anger then her child is representing cranky nature or irritability. New born's, toddlers are frequently seen prone to anger crying if parents are angry and fighting. It seems that mirror neurons in our brain play this role.

In a mob, this anger spreads like wild fire. For some negligible reason, mass anger hysteria has shown destructive and inhuman reactions. Anger is as volatile as fuel gas, it's contagious too. To be safe from these things, one has to become strong immunity wise. Peace and Love is the key to enhance this immunity. If I sense, anger is being invoked in me, then immediately I should balance myself and pacify my own mind.

Yes, it can be practised. If I see someone angry then either I should stay away till the wave is over or I must have my own shield of self peacefulness. Indian Philosophy insists on one very important thing, anger must be controlled and then cease fire is must, since anger does  real harm to the person who is angry and less harm to whom anger is expressed. Hyper acidity, insomnia, high BP, migraine, ulcers, cancer are few known side effects of chronic anger syndrome. Many names are yet to be nominated. Be aware and take good care of yourself , Please!

Is Multiple Intelligence Hereditary?

Wisdom is the most precious heritage. Multiple Intelligence may lead to wisdom, but efforts  are must for  development of Wisdom. If we consider this as heredity and lineage, then there is quite high incidence of transmitting all or few factors of Multiple Intelligence through genes.

Indian Philosophy, explains  in a great deal about this. It illustrates as Y chromosomes are responsible for  transmitting characters related to intelligence, while X chromosomes deal more with phenotype characters. Process of transmission happens via father with genes related to intelligence  is his chromosomes. And maternal factors of intelligence are transmitted, by her very existence.

Intra uterine connectivity is considered the best period when mothers emotions and intelligence both are sensed and absorbed and gained by the foetus, through vibrations (Spandan). Mother being the very first teacher and Guru of the child, maternal intelligence is transmitted through her teachings, by various communication methods. Thus heredity must be defined as a theory of genes and energy vibrations, in regards with Multiple Intelligence.

Yes, there are so many incidences where we see intelligent parents having child of quite low intelligence levels. Why is so? What went wrong? Pre conceptional state of would be mother and father plays a vital role in genetic expression. If negative factors like stress, bad habits as smoking, alcohol consumption , emotional imbalance , nutritional deficiency, chronic disease states, etc. are some factors which become hindrance in transmission of pure intellect. Also intra uterine accidents ,(traumas) physical as well as emotional may lead to subtle damages in transmission of intelligence factors.

For enhancing these possibilities of transmission of intelligence, balanced diet, nutritional supplements, stress reliving therapies, Yog, meditation, indulgence in creative activities, no exertion, are the factors to accept and practice by both , in pre conception phase as well as during pregnancy.

Power Of Prayers

I was on a schedule in a intensive care unit with two new born babies on supportive ventilation. Inside this ICU, there is only One Religion. But outside the ICU the scene is different, one grandmother is reciting SreeRamRaksha and one is reciting healing Aayat from Quran.

As soon as the I came out of ICU, the first grandmother says, " Doctor please take this Holy Ash of RamRaksha Abhimantrit  and put  it  on baby's  chest."

I could understand the feelings but the Doctor in me said, "Ma, I can't do this."

Other grandmother asked me, "Can I see baby and blow blessings of Allah towards baby?"

For this procedure I could see the same feelings as of the first grandmother but the doctor in me nodded in affirmation only to perform it while standing outside and looking at the baby from a glass door.

Suddenly the first grandmother remembered that this is also the way of passing the blessings of the prayers. And both did the same.

If  substance is replaced by more subtle forms as air and Loving Glance, then Blessings and Prayers become more Powerful. There is this Oneness about Universal Love in prayers. No boundaries of religion are there in this territory of prayers. In all famous and big hospitals, in small hospitals, there are Idols of God. Doctors praying in OT, casualty etc. while treating some challenging case, is frequently seen.

"We are doing our best, you too pray to the God" are the most frequently said lines by doctors. As a science, how these Prayers work? Vibrations of prayers are very subtle (Sukshm) and powerful. These acts, enhances confidence, boosts logical thinking, increases intra personal intelligence as well as inter personal intelligence. These are Multiple Intelligence factors. Such is the power of prayer.

Sunday, Quality Family Time

Weekdays scheduled works , tight time line, and so many diversions . Your body and mind is so active that you may  have dreams  about your work and goals . Your BMR is also relatively at higher side. In such situation, Sunday is definitely an outlet . Being with Family, is emotional energy boost. Playing with children is more stress bursting. Cooking together, outdoor picnics are very relieving for tensed muscles. While in work, due to responsibility and anxiety, our shoulder joints, para-vertebral muscles, jaw muscles are tight and tense. It leads to accumulation of lactic acid in respective muscles. This triggers pain and fatigue. Such repeated tensions may lead to frequent aches and pains with Muscular Fatigue Syndrome. This is seen commonly in cream society. To prevent this, playing, light exercise, massage and sun bath, happy time with family helps  excretion of this fatigue chemicals. So Sunday is the Day of Rejuvenation. For long term fitness and being well, Rest is must. Sound Sleep is an integral factor, and well planned  relaxing phase is the other very important factor. Let's respect our body and mind , be with family, enjoy healthy food and Happy Time,Together.

Festival Celebration, Basic Concepts for Children

When Festival Season is coming, child simply perceives , now this is my demand time. New clothes, toys, new mobile, video games and the list is always ready. Old Time sweets and meets are now optional. While travelling is the new trend during Festival Holidays. And to keep update such trends, even parents accept so. May be grandparents are there to put their suggestions to follow the traditions but sometimes they are too updated. Here I sincerely request parents to balance between traditional Festival Celebration and then planning for new concepts of celebration. Let the child know about history , total information regarding particular Festival, then child must watch and participate in traditional ways of rituals too. Festivals represent the Roots of Sanskriti and this understanding is one of the essential learning to build the personality of child. We have to take a good care to present a picture of the total Reason of Festival Celebration and not mere celebration which may be perceived without any logical base. Child with strong understanding of his/her sanskriti shows quite a strong Aptitude in life time. Let's celebrate our Festivals with understanding the science and Sanskar and make sure strong Aptitude of our next generation.

Acceptance Vs Tolerance

When a loving and caring heart pumps, it gives acceptance phase but when love is deficient then one has to tolerate. May I give few  vivid examples to visualise? Just imagine, if you are accidentally using toothbrush of other person... Agh! It's intolerable. But while kissing the loved one, then this act is simply accepted because brain and heart both are immersed in Love Chemistry! Second common, day to day example,  is stench of ammonia is totally intolerable but mother simply accept her kids wet pants, there is no phenomenon of tolerance. When someone is tolerating somebody, or some situation then there is deficiency of love, and efforts has to put in to get adjusted to it. These efforts may be mere or severe too. Thus , in the act of Tolerance, there are efforts and quite a lot energy is consumed. while in act of Acceptance , it is At Ease, and energy consumed is very less, in the contrary energy is Restored in the form of Increased Emotional Stamina. If somebody is frequently prone to situation of tolerance then his/her emotional stamina decreases rapidly and then there is intolerance expression at physical level in the form of Allergy. Yes! This is most important psychosomatic aetiology of many  Allergic disorders. So many allergic bronchitis cases in Pediatrics are now on  steroid free medications after removing the emotional root cause, leading to intolerance. Negative emotions were replaced by Acceptance with help of EFT and NLP. Thus not only anti allergic and symptomatic treatment but actual Psychological positive enforcement helps efficiently for long term benefits. Parental training and play-way methods are highly effective  to covert tolerance to Acceptance.

You Can Give, What You Have Within You

When you see statue of Laughing Buddha, naturally you smile. Big and broad smile on the face, always triggers at least a flicker of another smile. If we want to make someone happy, then it's must that I should feel happiness  within. If I want to encourage my loved ones, then I must be strong and confident first, I must sense my own confidence. Every state has it's own Energy and the same form of energy is emitted on it's own. When I am not in the complete state of peace, then I have to  take efforts to make the other person peaceful.  When we are in company of a enthusiastic and hard working person, we simply do our jobs better. Successful Leadership always demands Best Qualities in the Leader. Take  consideration of  small incidents in daily life, if parents are regular readers of good literature then their kids are natural readers. In IT industry, now a days Aptitude test is very important for team leaders placement. Leader's aptitude can lead the growth of company is the Sure and Simple Fact, behind this motto. Visionary Entrepreneur , who has full faith in self and own Visions always becomes Successful. His Aura emits such strong vibrations that like minded people come in contact and form the Ideal Team. So Mantra of Success is firstly inculcate good qualities in self, be humble and have firm Faith in the God, be reasonable and wise, then surely we can change other minds and channelize their energy towards Light and Successful, Satisfied Life.

EQ is Proportional To Aura Strength

Even though we know so much about EQ , we must know about it's Origin which is explained in Indian Philosophy, Ved , Upanishad, and Gita. Yog Shastr is part of it. Aura of a person consists of, AnnMay Kosh, PranMay Kosh, ManoMay Kosh, VidnyanMay Kosh, Aanand or Dnyan May Kosh. EQ is related mostly to ManoMay Kosh but Ofcourse it's interlinked with all Koshas. Since AanandMay kosh is related to AatmDnyan as GuruKrupa, it's understanding is purely experience based and can't be explained in words. But this Ultimate Kosh eminates AatmBal rays which strengthens other Koshas. Koshas are expression of Energy Vibrations. After knowing these Basic Facts,Let's focus on ManoMay Kosh. To energies this part, we have to express ourselves in very well mannered. There must not be supression or repression of emotions. Emotional Freedom Technique( EFT)and Neuro Linguistic Programme (NLP) are best for abovementioned purpose. Meditation actually helps as Root and Base of Energy Supply for ManoMay Kosh. EQ enhancement is achieved with regular practice of NLP and Dhyan(Meditation). Here I humbly suggest to take assistance by Experienced person to understand and learn, these methods. Only understanding is not sufficient but regular practice under supervision of Guide is necessary. As EQ defines your one of the most important Personality Aspects, one must achieve it's Peak.

Good BreakFast helps for multitasking

The person who is multitasking, needs stability and boost of energy as a start of the day! Even though it may appear monotonous but nutrition must be standardised. Fruit juice or milk, simple carbohydrates as puffs of cereals, sprouts, boiled egg, etc. are opinions. No fried food as it increases blood circulation to digestive tract and you may feel bit sleepy. Multitasking needs alert and refresh mind set, sugar in fruits is most beneficial for this purpose. Hydrochloric acid secreted by night can make the nervous system prone to irritations but puffs actually neutralize excess of Hydrochloric and assists in mind stability. Proteins and micro nutrients in sprouts improve our stamina. Wholesome, balanced diet as colorfully arranged, served with aroma hints and last but most importantly with loving smile is best to break the fast, and fast start of joyous multitasking day.

Along with breakfast recitation on Omkara is the ultimate nutrition for brain for multitasking.

Butter can make bitter things better

When situation is bitter then only good friends company act as butter to make things better. Yes! Its very important fact that one must be very careful about choosing good company. Mirror neurons in our brain always crave for mirroring , greater and good acts but beware of it's naughtiness as these neurons may indulge in bad things too. So one must either be in self control or choose good company wisely.

Next important thing about good friends is you can always do loud thinking in front of them and it releases bitterness stagnated within. So understand Neuro-physique of self and company and take benefit of it to make yourself Really Successful at emotional state. Yes emotions play very important role in Successful life since stable and peaceful mind is the secret key of true success.

Myths And Phobias About Food

The very first wrong myth I heard during my childhood was, "now a days food doesn't have Satv (nutritive value to it's fullest) because farmers are using too much fertilizers, urea has it's side effects and even mineral content of soil (called locally as kas ) is poor." This elderly learned fellow was sure to state that forthcoming generation will be weak.

Ours is next generation, and still we are strong and healthy!! And such are these dangerous notions related about food, which are discussed very seriously, under the banner of Care. The next popular phobia about food is, vegetables and fruits are processed using chemicals. My aunty informed me,"now a days they give injections to vegetables and fruits" as a doctor I literally saw pumpkin being injected with 2 cc syringe. And this recent episode of Aadesh bhauji (a Marathi TV actor) had blood in vomiting (Hematemesis)!?! had given more popularity to same phobia.

Oh God! Please help me and guide me, which food is Safe ? Of course I am not denying, there is truth in all above news but... then what is the safe option? Let me share some interesting scientific facts here. Have we noticed that within some time period, mosquitoes  and cockroaches become resistant to repellents. Now may I dare to ask one thing, if insects and birds can mutate and evolve themselves, get adapted to changing surroundings then why  not  same Thumb Rule of Nature is applicable for us? Since intelligent human  beings do have intelligent cells to get adopted to surrounding and surely evolve, then why is not this Fact also popular along with myths and phobias related to food? In our tradition , before eating our meals we say prayers and regard food as Ann PurnBrahm,. Such is the power of faith and gratitude that food acts as Power Source and medicine.. in it's true sense. In the books of Psychology, it is stated that if person believes he is bitten by non poisonous snake, then chances of his survival increases by many folds. Here I would like to encourage all of you that please focus on positive thinking while taking meals, please don't entertain suspicion while eating. Yes it's obvious that I do recommend safe and nutritive food. But even I request to think in positive manner.

Dar dar ke khane se kya fayada? Pyar aur vishwas se khana khayiye!

Invest your Energy wisely

Energy must be respected and wisely invested everyday. Thinking in creative phase is primary and essential investment. Creativity boosts our energy stores. This fact must be experienced, rather than just known. Our daily routine sometime becomes monotonous and this phase may stagnate energy. Have you observed yourself when you are bored for more than a week, then you are highly prone for burst of negative emotions. Cultivating a good hobby is a one way, playing is also one of the very good creative doing, visit to Nature specially with kids, and listening kids imaginations actually brings out our own creativity. Eating simple carbohydrates, salads, sprouts is also very good investment of energy. Eating fast food is not wise, since such food stuffs require more energy for their digestion and excretion than they provide the energy in caloric value and nutritive value.  Now lets come to emotions. Energy expenditure for crying is more than for smiling. Thus by smiling we are saving energy along with increase in value of presentation.. So my dear learned friends, invest your energy in prosperity of complete health which is ultimate and known as Wisdom(Dnyan).

Relief comes Naturally

Each cell possesses vital force which is responsible for healing. Whether injury is at physical level (somatic) or at emotional level (psychotic) body always try to restore homeostasis (normality and vitality process). Take an example of emotional injury: when you are angry there is increased acid and bile secretion, blood vessels are dilated, increase in heart rate and respiratory rate. See so many changes !!! And these are proportionate to intensity of your emotion. To restore these changes there starts Cooling system in mind and body which is Healing in itself. But repeated such injuries lead to some damage like gastric ulcer. Beware of these facts and try to protect yourself from emotional injuries. Awareness is the first step towards complete health. Awareness helps to control negative emotions and triggers cellular intelligence for natural healing. Now lets understand physical injury, viral attack leading to common cold, defence mechanism of body comes into action, sneezing to throw away foreign material, increased mucous secretion in response to inflation, and white blood cells actually kills virus by Neuro-chemical weapons or eat them literally. See so many procedures for self defense. For support now body needs good rest, good food, and good company for good mood. Whenever there is injury (any type) don't eat junk food since to digest this body gets overboard work and so recovery process gets delayed or even disturbed. Vitality is the best Healer and being peaceful , contented maintains Vitality. Remember this health mantra always.

Get distracted from sufferings

Whatever may be your age, along with happiness there are sufferings. They are physical and emotional. When there is ache or pain, immediately the person gets attracted towards it. Vice a versa when person needs attention he/she feels pain. Thus pain is always interlinked between body and mind. It's really difficult to focus on other things, when pain is there. But one must try to focus on pleasant memories or beautiful scenery or towards the person we love, like and this really help to decrease intensity of pain. Perception of pain is very personal. Medical aids, medicines can help surely but along with these therapeutics, root cause of pain must be diagnosed and treated well. Loving and caring words, touch therapy secrets Oxytocin and Endorphins and increases tolerance. Mother's soothing touch actually calms down irritated nerves and removes pain. Acupressure points also are beneficial. Kind visitors and fresh flowers, fresh fruits help a lot when given with true heart and prayer's.

Parental Habits are reflected in child

What you say may or may not be seen in behavior of your child but what you do is surely followed. So if you want to inculcate good habits in your child then make sure, you are the first one to have it. Anyways, the golden rule is, the one whose deeds speak of positivity is authority to suggest it to others. Early retire to bed by 9.30 to 10 pm and so early wake up time by 6am is health mantra for home!! This must be practiced by all family members . Eating seasonal fruits every day is 2nd healthy habit. Prayers in the form of sanskrit or mother tongue, as a daily spiritual ritual is equally essential for total health . Child may pick some bad habits from peers , playmates and surroundings, in this situation please have patience. Firstly counsel your child. If necessary then only be firm and punish but be aware while punishing you as a parent must not lose control of your own consciousness. Family visits in Nature and family play time are very important habits to evolve  EQ of child and parents as well. Let's enjoy Good Habits!!!!

Depression Must Be Diagnosed

If you feel depressed for more than 2 weeks then be cautious. Please pay attention to your spouse and  pupil too , and rule out early signs of depression. Subtle signs may be presented as not feeling fresh after awakening, early insomnia, not interested in daily routine, not feeling satiety after meals, unable to enjoy social gathering etc. These signs can  be seen amongst adults, teens and even kids. At home front check out signs of indigestion as it provokes lethargy and dullness leading to depression. So cut down fried food, fast food and start fresh fruit juices as orange, pomegranate which cures gastro intestinal inner lining and also provides micro nutrients which help in detoxification as well as rejunuvation . Carrot juice provides pectin which actually heals GIT. When we say....'it's my gut feeling' it actually states the old fact that feelings are related to gut . Satiety centre in brain gets triggered after good food and also get disturbed with bad food. Vice a versa stress and indigestion can lead to bulaemia or anorexia. Thus vicious cycle may set in. To prevent this in adult or child one must treat at both levels....emotional support and nutritional support.  Please don't get embarrassed if there is depressed state ,please don't hide or neglect but help the one to come out of that state ASAP.

Parents and positive path

AUM! Whenever there is emotional chaotic situation between parent and pupil that Time is very very crucial to Stay Calm. Pupil's emotions are  flaring and sensitive ; not yet stabilised by experiential learning . So parent is the one who should stay calm quite and observant. Never to panic in front of pupil because mirror neurons of pupil are very much in harmony with parents body mind and aura. One must take benefit of this Fact. Stable parents aura helps to minimize anxiety and instability of pupil thus helping him to become calmer and more conscious towards positive behavior.

Emotional Intelligence

Since the inception of humanity, man has been trying to 'know' things. Not knowing makes him restless and vulnerable. Hence he tried to find to the things tangible or intangible, and so did he began his search.

At the turn of 19 the century when psychology was not a established science  a concept of intelligence was introduced. It was elaborated, researched, studied and established. The quest did not settle there. In the final decades of 20th century a young Psychological researcher named Daniel Goleman put forth for the first time the concept and theory of Emotional Intelligence (EQ).

To elaborate further for the reader to understand, Emotional Intelligence (EI) comprises of five fundamental factors.
They are:

1)Self Awareness

2) Self Regulations

3) Empathy

4) Self Motivation

5) Managing Relations

These facets of Emotional Intelligence contribute significantly on how a person behaves, or what personality he or she projects.

Moreover the ability of a person to succeed mostly depend on these facets of Emotional Intelligence. Whereas  cognitive intelligence merely contribute 1/5 th to a persons success.

Good emotional intelligence also ensures good health and good attitude.

A person having strong emotional intelligence is  satisfied and at peace with himself. A quality essential for spiritual unfolding of an individual.

All in all, be keen to keep yourself emotionally intelligent and spread the joys of knowing things and people.

Smart Food For Smart Mind

In order to gain in sound and happy mind one must deligently work on one's food intially.

In this reference a great Indian sage Ramanujacharya a proponent of Vishista Advaita i.e. qualified non dualism, gives following guidelines.

Food contains all energies that go up to make forces of our body and mind. Thus difference between body, mind and the food we eat is but of manifestation only. It being so, that out of the material particles of our food we construct the instrument of thought, and that from the finer forces lodged in these particles we manufacture thought itself. Hence it naturally follows that both instrument and the thought will be modified by the food we take.

According to Ramanuja, there are three things in food we must avoid.

1) Jati:
The nature or the species of the food. All exciting food must be avoided as meat, onions, garlics etc. Any food that has been standing for days, till its condition is changed, any food whose natural juices have almost dried up, any food that is mal odorous should be avoided

2) Ashraya:

The person from whom it comes. The idea that each man has some aura around him and whatever thing he touches, a part of his character, as it were, his influence, is left on it. So we must take care who touches our food when it is cooked. A wicked, imnmoral person must not touch it.

3) Nimitta:

The instruments. Dirt and dust must not be in food. Food should not be brought from the market and placed on the table unwashed. We must be careful of saliva and other secretions. Again, we must not eat food, half of which has been eaten by someone else.

When these things are avoided in food, it becomes pure; pure food brings up a pure mind, and in pure mind is a smart and happy mind.

Recreation and Meditation

Man is made up of various spheres of existence. These are body, mind, energy, knowledge and soul. In oriental countries this is called as the ‘Five Sheath’ theory of existence. As a matter of fact anxiety, fear, lack of confidence being the states of mind, meditation is a very effective way of managing and relieving all these unwanted mental states.

Meditation is a technique to attain a state of fine concentration through which you get peace and satisfaction of mind. There are many forms of meditation and they all seek the same end result. Here we shall see an exercise of breathing that shall calm your mind and drive away your fear and panic. The steps of practicing the breathing exercise for meditating are:

1)      Posture: This is important because it provides a impetus for the act of concentration. One must sit in an erect posture by folding your legs as in the posture of Siddhasana. The head, the neck and the spine should fall in single line.
2)      Focus: One must close his/her eyes and focus on the singular point in the middle of both eyes internally.
3)      Breathing: Steady deep breathing should be practiced and the inhalation and exhalation process should be witnessed.
4)      Duration: One may practice this exercise minimum for 10 minutes and can extend the time as per the stamina and convenience.

5)      Consistency: One must follow a routine in order to achieve result. Fixed a proper time of a day may be morning or evening, and stick to it. Do not change the time frequently. The meditation exercise should be done daily without fail.

Working With Teachers and Schools

Many teachers say that they don’t often receive information from parents about problems at home. Many parents say that they don’t know what the school expects from their children—or from them. Sharing information is essential and both teachers and parents are responsible for making it happen.

The following questions and answers can help you to get the most out of talking to your child’s teacher or with other school staff members.

Q: What do I do first?

Learn everything that you can about your child’s school. The more you know, the easier your job as a parent will be. Ask for a school handbook. This will answer many questions that will arise over the year. If your school doesn't have a handbook, ask questions. Ask the principal and teachers, for example: What classes does the school offer? Which classes are required? What are your expectations for my child? How does the school measure student progress? Does it meet state standards? What are the school’s rules and regulations?

Ask about specific teaching methods and materials—are the methods based on evidence about what works best in teaching reading or math? Are the science and history textbooks up to date?
Ask if the school has a Web site and, if so, get the address. School Web sites can provide you with read access to all kinds of information—schedules of events, names of people to contact, rules and regulations and so forth.

Keep informed throughout the school year. If your schedule permits, attend PTA meetings. If you are unable to attend, ask that the minutes of the meetings be sent to you. Or, find out if the school makes these minutes available on its Website.

Q: When should I talk with my child’s teacher?

Early and often! Contact your child’s teacher or teachers at the beginning of the year or as soon as you can. Get acquainted and show your interest.

Tell teachers what they need to know about your child. If she has special needs, make these known from the beginning.

If you notice a big change in your child’s behavior, school performance or attitude during the school year, contact the teacher immediately. Report cards are one indication of how well your child is doing in school. But you also need to know how things are going between report cards. For example, if your son is having trouble in math, contact the teacher to find out when he has his next math test and when it will be returned to him. This allows you to address a problem before it mushrooms into something bigger. Call the teacher if your son doesn’t understand an assignment or if he needs extra help to complete an assignment. You may also want to find out if your child’s teachers use e-mail to communicate with parents. Using e-mail will allow you to send and receive messages at times that are most convenience for you.

Q: What if my child has a problem, such as with homework or not understanding what’s happening in class?

Contact the teacher as soon as you suspect that your child has problem with his schoolwork. Schools have a responsibility to keep you informed about your child’s performance and behavior and you have a right to be upset if you don’t find out until report-card time that your child is having difficulties. On the other hand, you may figure out that a problem exists before the teacher does. By alerting the teacher, you can work together to solve a problem in its early stages.

Request a meeting with the teacher to discuss problems. Tell her briefly why you want to meet. You might say, “Tim is having trouble with his social studies homework. I’m worried about why he can’t finish the assignments and what we might do to help him.” If English is your second language, you may need to make special arrangements, such as including in the meeting someone who is bilingual.

Approach the teacher with a cooperative spirit. Believe that the teacher wants to help you and your child, even if you disagree about something. Don’t go to the principal without first giving the teacher a chance to work out the problem with you and your child.

Q: How do I get the most out of parent-teacher meetings?

Be prepared to listen as well as to talk. It helps to write out questions before you leave home. Also jot down what you want to tell the teacher. Be prepared to take notes during the meetings and ask for an explanation if you don’t understand something.

In meetings, the teacher should offer specific details about your child’s work and progress. If your child has already received some grades, ask how your child is being evaluated.

Talk about your child’s talents, skills, hobbies, study habits and any special sensitivity such as concern about weight or speech difficulties. Tell the teacher if you think your child needs special help and about any special family situation or event that might affect your child’s ability to learn. Mention such things as a new baby, an illness or a recent or an upcoming move.

Ask about specific ways to help your child at home. Try to have an open mind. At home, think about what the teacher has said and then follow up. If the teacher has told you that your child needs to improve in certain areas, check back in a few weeks to see how things are going.

Q: What if I don’t agree with a school rule or with a teacher’s assignments?

First, don’t argue with the teacher in front of your child. Set up a meeting to talk about the issue. Before the meeting, plan what you are going to say—why you think a rule is unfair or what exactly you don’t like about an assignment. Get your facts straight and don’t rely on anger to win your argument. Try to be positive and remain calm. Listen carefully.

If the teacher’s explanation doesn't satisfy you, arrange to talk with the principal or even the school superintendent. Do not feel intimidated by titles or personalities. An educator’s primary responsibility is to ensure the success of each and every student in his classroom, school or district.

Q: What’s the best way for me to stay involved in my child’s school activities?

Attend school events. Go to sports events, attend parent-teacher meetings and awards events, such annual functions etc.

Volunteer in your school. If your schedule permits, look for ways to help out at your child’s school. Schools often send home lists of ways in which parents can get involved.

Q: What if I don’t have time to volunteer as much as I would like?

Even if you can’t volunteer to do work at the school building, you can help your child learn when you’re at home. The key question is, “What can I do at home, easily and in a few minutes a day, to reinforce and extend what the school is doing?” This is the involvement that every family can and must provide.

The schools also need to take steps so that parents feel good about what they’re doing at home and know they’re helping.

Helping Your Child with Test-Taking

You can be a great help to your child if you will observe these do’s and don’ts about tests and testing:

Do talk to your child about testing. It’s helpful for children to understand why schools give tests and to know the different kinds of tests they will take. Explain that tests are yardsticks that teachers, schools, school districts and even states use to measure what and how they teach and how well students are learning what is taught. Most tests are designed and given by teachers to measure students’ progress in a course. These tests are associated with the grades on report cards. The results tell the teacher and students whether they are keeping up with the class, need extra help or are ahead of other students.

The results of some tests tell schools that they need to strengthen courses or change teaching methods. Still other tests compare students by schools, school districts or cities. All tests determine how well a child is doing in the areas measured by the tests.

Tell your child that occasionally, he will take “standardized” tests. Explain that these tests use the same standards to measure student performance across the state or even across the country. Every student takes the same test according to the same rules. This makes it possible to measure each student’s performance against that of others.
  •  Do encourage your child. Praise her for the things that she does well. If your child feels good about herself, she will do her best on a test. Children who are afraid of failing are more likely to become anxious when taking tests and more likely to make mistakes.
  • Do meet with your child’s teacher as often as possible to discuss his progress. Ask the teacher to suggest activities for you and your child to do at home to help prepare for tests and to improve your child’s understanding of schoolwork.
  • Do make sure that your child attends school regularly. Remember, tests reflect children’s overall achievement. The more effort and energy your child puts into learning, the more likely it is that he will do well on tests.
  • Do provide a quiet, comfortable place for studying at home and make sure that your child is well rested on school days and especially on the day of a test. Children who are tired are less able to pay attention in class or to handle the demands of a test.
  • Do provide books and magazines for your child to read at home. By reading new materials, a child will learn new words that might appear on a test. Ask your child’s teacher for lists of books for outside reading or get suggestions from your local library.
  • Don’t get upset because of a single test score. Many things can influence how your child does on a test. She might not have felt well on test day or she might have been too nervous to concentrate. She might have had an argument with a friend before the test or she might have been late to school because the school bus got caught in traffic. Remember, one test is simply one test.
  • Don’t place so much emphasis on your child’s test scores that you lose sight of her well being. Too much pressure can affect her test performance. In addition, she may come to think that you will only love her if she does well on tests.
  • Do help your child avoid test anxiety. It’s good for your child to be concerned about taking a test. It’s not good for him to develop “test anxiety.” Test anxiety is worrying too much about doing well on a test. It can mean disaster for your child. Students with test anxiety can worry about success in school and about their future success. They can become very self-critical and lose confidence in their abilities. Instead of feeling challenged by the prospect of success, they become afraid of failure. If your child worries too much about taking tests, you can help to reduce the anxiety by encouraging the child to do the following things.

—Plan ahead. Start studying for the test well in advance. Make sure that you understand what material the test will cover. Try to make connections about what will be on the test and what you already know. Review the material more than once.
—Don’t “cram” the night before. This will likely increase your anxiety, which will interfere with clear thinking. Get a good night’s sleep.
—When you get the test, read the directions carefully before you begin work. If you don’t understand how to do something, ask the teacher to explain.
—Look quickly at the entire text to see what types of questions are on it (multiple choice, matching, true/false, essay). See if different questions are worth different numbers of points. This will help you to determine how much time to spend on each part of the test.
—If you don’t know the answer to a question, skip it and go on. Don’t waste time worrying about one question. Mark it and, if you have time at the end of the test, return to it and try again.

After the Test
Your child can learn a great deal from reviewing a graded exam paper. Reviewing will show him where he had difficulty and, perhaps, why. This is especially important for classes in which the material builds from one section to the next, as in math. Students who have not mastered the basics of math are not likely to be able to work with fractions, square roots, beginning algebra and so on.

Discuss the wrong answers with your child and find out why he chose the answers.
Sometimes a child didn't understand or misread a question. Or, he may have known the correct answer but failed to make his answer clear.

You and your child should read and discuss all comments that the teacher writes on a returned test. If any comments aren't clear, tell your child to ask the teacher to explain them.
